As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize knowledge, leadership, advocacy, and collaboration to provide prevention, assessment, and remediation services for people to assist and regain the most use possible of fine and large motor skills, as well as mental, reasoning and though processes. These professionals work in hospitals, established medical and educational facilities or visit people in their own home or nursing facility. Therapists work with patients of all ages, mostly with the mentally or physically handicapped and elderly. They also work with those who have had accidents from which disabilities were sustained.

• Use systematic procedures for review of the patient’s progress and adjust intervention strategies based upon student performance.

• Maintain records of the speech-language program and prepares periodic reports as required.

• Manage the facilities, materials and equipment, including assistive technology, necessary to the delivery of services.

• Manage time effectively.  Maintain schedule for therapy sessions and update case logs.

• Participate in professional meetings, symposia and workshops directly related to the speech-language-hearing profession. 

• Promote effective interpersonal relations with the patient.  Maintain confidentiality of information received.

Master or equivalent in Physical Therapy or related field. License in Physical Therapy required.
